While city life is filled with its fare share of animal encounters it pales in comparison to the farmlands and country. Out there animals and hoomans are far less distanced from one another and sadly that leads to situations such as the one this raccoon found itself in. Thankfully, it would not have to handle the hairy situation all alone for a benevolent hooman happened to miraculously spot it while driving past.

Animals in the country are truly wild, they are not like the raccoons, rats, mice and birds of the city who are so in tune with the ways of city life that they seem to even be able to use the subway to get around. But out in the country, animals are not as aware of how hooman construction works. They do not understand the dangers of a road, they do not understand the terror of train tracks. And so rather often, there are situations in which animals get hit and have no idea how to help themselves.

That is how this story begins, with a raccoon who'd been hit by a car and who a passing driver thought might have passed away. But when he stepped out of his car to assess the situation he was met with a pair of beady little eyes darting back at him from the brush. It was a baby raccoon, injured but most certainly alive. This hooman had the opportunity to leave the cute critter to fend for itself, he had no social obligation to do anything, they were totally alone. Nonetheless, he stepped up and made a miracle happen for this sweet animal.
